Someone tried to take away a piece of us. After more than 20 years without incident and less than 6 months after completing a major restoration project on our iconic statue, Charity was vandalized this week and torn from his pedestal in the early morning hours. The good news is that the police caught the vandal. The bad news is that we face another period of time with an empty front porch. We will be working with the original restoration company to evaluate the extent of the damage and bring him back home again.
New Year…New Resolve. We have #plans!
Today it smells like carpet glue…and while that’s not pleasant in the short term, we’re really excited about how awesome our first floor will look when it’s finished. It’s said that “the door handle is the handshake of the building,” and one of our resolutions every year is to improve the visible experience of our building for tenants, visitors and guests. Thanks to a generous grant from The Delaplaine Foundation, we are able to replace our first floor, common space carpeting and the installation is happening this week
We thought it would be fun to take a look at our 2022 plans compared to Charity’s 2022 plans and our most recent newsletter shows you what that looks like. Check it out here!
If you haven’t stopped by to visit us recently, we’ve put up a new exterior mural and have a couple of new nonprofit partners in the building. Our building is open to the public 9-4, Monday-Friday and you can set up a tour by sending an email to info@federatedcharities.org. Come see what our nonprofit center is all about!
It’s been a minute…
We are in the final phase of our renovation project for the building (and no, we don’t know yet when the dog statue is returning)
