What does a bag of groceries or a pair of glasses have to do with the mission of Federated Charities? As a resource for the nonprofit community, we are more than aware of the challenges organizations face in their work every day…including budgeting to respond to all the things that our clients need from us. Because of that, we make it possible for other local nonprofits (who may only have the funds to address a specific issue) to make a small purchase and increase their impact. Our Rapid Response program has helped pay for household appliances, covered a night in a hotel rather than sleeping in a car, purchased glasses that weren’t covered by Medicaid/Medicare or picked up a week’s worth of groceries for a family during hard times. We work with other local nonprofits to identify a need and then we try and make it happen. If you are working directly with a service provider in Frederick, ask them to give us a call…we can help.
